It will be a full generation, maybe two, before America is truly 'back'. I've worked several manufacturing jobs, and the attitude in every one one of them, from bottom level floor employees to top level bosses, could be summed up with: 'I Don't Know and/or I Don't Care. Ignorance and apathy rule, even among the better employees. Those rare workers that do know or care will actively have someone else 'not know or care' on their behalf.
There's no rational thought going on in our industry. It's all idiots following orders from idiots in charge who don't know what is going on. Everyone does things to make it seem like we're doing something, even (especially, I've observed) if it is counter productive or otherwise doesn't make sense.
