The writers of the constitution would not allow anyone to illegally enter the country and then drop spawn who become citizens. Makes no sense especially when looking at the rest of the constitution and the bill of rights.
There is a process for becoming a citizen that any foreigners can work through.
Those foreigners are subject to the jurisdiction of their home nations. As is their offspring. Until thy go through the citizenship application and process.
Makes perfect sense both spirit and letter of the law.
The fact that politicians continually ‘interpret’ these very detailed and specific laws illegally shows that they are complicit in weakening the USA in so many ways.

When the Constitution was written, there were no immigration laws. The first immigration law wasn't written until 1882. Remember that this country was founded on immigrants.
Do you really think visitors to our country, legal or otherwise, aren't subject to our laws? Seriously?
Edited to add:
Look up "birth tourism". There is an entire industry of getting pregnant women to the US in order for them to give birth here so that their child can be a US citizen.
Trump worked to make it more difficult for pregnant women to get a tourist visa because of birth tourism.
Don't you think it's odd that there is an entire industry related to something you believe isn't true? Odd that Trump changed tourist visas for pregnant women because of something you don't believe is true?
‘Subject to jurisdiction of...’ does not mean not subject to laws. It’s easy enough to read when I sent as well as educate deeper if one wants to learn the more in depth meanings.
The whole drop spawn, be citizen is horseshit both at face value and in fact law. The ‘interpretation’ of black robed politically appointed people and politicians of this fact has made for a ridiculous situation and the USA the laughing stock of the world. It makes no sense to slow illegals to become citizens while ignoring immigration law. It weakens the nation. And it is not logical.
The majority of people have been brainwashed by media and politicians into believing this is law as well as proper.
Yes the USA was founded by immigrants. Immigrants who created laws, and then worked to build the nation. The USA isn’t a repository for dregs of society to come and loot and leach off the hard work of others.
You can argue that things shouldn't be the way they are. I'm not arguing in favor of how things are.
But to deny reality because it doesn't sit well with you is just nuts.
And the reality is that our legal system does, in fact, recognize people who were born here as US citizens, no matter where their parents were born.
You can argue until you're blue in the face, but it doesn't change the fact that our entire legal system recognizes people born on us soil are US citizens. No one is concerned with how you, personally, feel on the subject. 🤷♀️
Well with your logic slojoe and cameltoe won right? All listed in the Bill of Rights aren’t limitless. Boys can be girls because that’s what ‘they’ say it should be. And Bud Light fills your fridge.
You’re right. Everyone has an opinion.
But the 14th states subject to jurisdiction illegals can’t drop spawn to become citizens. Regardless of how politicians and you state that’s the case.
The guys that wrote it based on their other work, logic and even Federal Papers proves so.
Do some research on the amendment.
