I love “no property tax”. A person could actually really own their home free and clear. Property tax is like paying rent on your house forever even if it’s paid off.
The FairTax calls for a 23% total tax rate... which is too high but the concept is great. Stop taxing me at every stop... we are supposed to be taxed once, and it is supposed to be simple.
We are currently paying 28-30% each and it could be more due to the way our money is taxed multiple times. The Fairtax is to make everybody pay "their fair share" based on what they buy and nothing else. Only one tax, no more IRS, no more payroll taxes... I'm down.
Interesting idea.
I think the tax rate would need to be higher.
If implemented, a process of changing real property title from Fee Simple to Allodial would need to be considered and I doubt the corruptocrats would allow it.
I am always cynical of top down funding for obvious reasons.

it would be a good thing but there are to many money grabbing crooks in government for it to pass....
Devil = the details
7.5% is astronomical
Fedgov should be viciously chopped down to under 1/10 its current size - no need to give them this enormous amount of your money
Tax must have an iron cap put on it, or else Congress WILL jack it up through the clouds
1% is enough - if they "need" more, then they "need" to cut waste, fraud, and abuse to get their "need" down to 1%.
This is a Nebraska state bill, not federal.
Thanks
Never mind then
Sounds pretty close to the FairTax to me! Its a good thing!
too high

23% is utterly berserk

I'm not down until the proposed tax rate is.
Also they necessarily have to repeal the [fraudulent] 16th amedment, or else politicians will do both the sales tax AND income tax.
Exactly thats whats holding it up. But the FairTax is the most anti government tax out there and the only way for me to start paying taxes again.
