The disadvantage of being an island.

You can be surrounded with an embargo, and starved out. If they decide to bomb you out you're a sitting duck with no where to hide or run. They are stacked on top of each other like cord wood, and that is how they would be buried.

The only way Taiwan doesn't get obliterated is someone with military power is willing to take on China. If that happens we are in a shooting WWIII instead of the information war.
