I’m not perfect by any means and am working to overcome a few problems that are not insignificant, but after what I’ve learned here and through Q, if God grades on the curve, I’m on pretty damned good shape to get into heaven or atleast in adjacent community.

Exactly what I keep thinking when people deny the words of Christ.
So tell me then. Do you hate your entire family? Your friends? You co-workers? Have you given up literally every single worldly good in your life? Surely you must be posting...on the internet...from a library computer. Because if you truly took this verse seriously you would eschew all manner of everything this world has to offer. You would be on the streets doing nothing but preaching and living off the goodness of other people to house, clothe, and feed you daily. So you've...walked out on all possessions then? I mean literally every single one? You've sold all your worldly goods and given the money gained to the poor? Because if you think Jesus’ words are up to interpretation then you have a serious issue.
For fuck's sake, the comment that started all this insane diatribe off was my opinion that God loves us all enough to be sure that our pets will be in heaven with us.
Maybe go back and reread my comments to understand what I said better. But I’ll repeat myself yet again. Hate is a comparative term when used in Scripture, and yes, I do hate everything in comparison to my love for Christ.
And my point is that thinking you need a pet in Heaven as if that would add anything at all to being in the presence of the Lord is laughable.
But have you sold all your belongings and given the money to the poor? Because that's in there as well. If you have not then one might question your devotion to the cause...
Is this your way of completely ignoring the subject at hand? By pointing out that I’m not a perfect being? Are you judging me by the same measure you judge yourself by? Have you done what you accuse me of not doing? Didn’t you mention the verse about removing the log from ones own eye before focusing on the speck in another’s?
