Last month our local Navy base was shut down for a few hours because of an active shooter call, Fam member works there civilian ATC, he and two other atc refused to evacuate until all aircraft in the area were notified and set to a safe course and or hand them off to their nearest airfield. Air traffic has both mil and civ and it gets busy here, cant just walk out and let them collide with each other., thankfully his uppers approved it and allowed them to take care of the planes before evac. Our high school was as well the week prior. No shooter was found in both occasions. Not heard a word about it after other than "suspected swat call" or someone called in that there was as a "prank call". At the time someone else mentioned same happened in Texas in their area, I looked up on the line of it and found Several schools across the nation were being hammered with the same "swatting". I hope they find the sob, at your base.
