This is a very mainstream official narrative about Tesla is completely bunk. JP Morgan is rumored to have said "IF we send power wirelessly, where do you put the meter?" Do you think he was going to tell the newspapers, and journalist the truth about why it was discontinued? Fake news just as prevalent back then as it is today, actually easier back then because there was no internet.
Undoubtedly, Morgan discontinued funding because Tesla was making no progress (duh). And there is the legitimate problem as to how such a technology (if possible) would be economically viable. Free power! But who pays for the generator, the fuel, and the transmitter? (The rumored statement is patently stupid. The proper place for any meter would be at any receiver, just like the electric meters we have today. Morgan would know that.)
The timeline is factual and not bunk. Your only attempt at a disproof is a rumor. You have yet to prove he actually said it, so you have no right to make any inferences from it. Fake news is only fake if it is shown to be fake, and you haven't shown anything. All you have is paranoid suspicion and prejudice.
You're making assumptions on what Morgan would know is very curious. Yes, putting the meter like we have today does make sense, except for Tesla system would be wireless so that anyone could tap into it with his devices. You can't just tap into the electric system we have today without someone knowing, and being able to follow the wire exactly to where you are. So tell me again about what JP Morgan knew.
J. P. Morgan knew that such a system had to be economically viable or there was no point in spending money on it. Do you disagree with this?
I am only assuming that Morgan should have known what already was the case in the normal distribution of electricity, that you meter the received power. Do you have a better idea? Nobody could tap into this without someone knowing (loss of delivered power to registered users), but tracking down the culprit would be tricky. Today, people sometimes pirate electricity from 3-phase power lines by laying out induction antennas on the ground and it is not easy to find them.
I notice you have given up on his rumored remark. It is easier to understand that Tesla was making no progress and Morgan was disinclined to spend good money after bad.
Tesla had already worked out his system of wireless energy at Colorado Springs, the progress had already been made. He just wasn't making progress on the what JP Morgan wanted. NO it certainly wasn't economically viable for JP morgan because he couldn't line his pockets, and his friends pockets for the next century. Which is what they did anyway. Your arrogance and ignorance is still helping them do it.
No progress? Where do you get that from? What makes you think he was making "No Progress" because JP morgan said so. That's like taking the word of Bill Gates.
Because he made no progress. What progress was there? He was trying to communicate radio messages from one continent to another, and was beaten to the punch by Marconi. Even after Marconi, he was still unable to do it. J.P. Morgan didn't need to say anything. He just stopped writing checks.
Or, you tell me what progress. From 1905 to 1907, Tesla had suspended work, and then his debts caught up with him and he had to sell the property. Who is lying, exactly? You are pretty free to cover up faults and shortcomings with "everybody else is lying."

Are you from the UK by any chance?

LOL you think he was trying to send radio communications with the magnifying transmitter tower? Wow you are completely lost.
