Isn't all of Oakland "an absolute rat-infested dump"?

Lots of cities are refusing to pay for sports facilities, especially when it requires a vote such as on a bond referendum

Yes, of course it is.

My point was about multi-billionaire owners demanding "Pay me or I'll move."

It's one reason I fell out of love with professional sports.

The Green Bay Packers may be an exception--believe it or not, they're owned by the fans. It's why they still play at old Lambeau Field and will NEVER move.

So, of course, because that makes way too much sense, every sports league banned this ownership structure. Because fuck the fans.
