Right you are! My Dad worked for CBS when color took over, he grumbled cuz he had to take a course in how color tape was used, (he was a sound man). He said the Network was pissed because NBC nailed it with the peacock and all CBS had left was a "bloodshot eye". There was a race to produce in color and NBC was the first network to go that way.
Fox was the last name of the guy who started the movie studio 20th Century Fox. New Corp, Murdoch's company, bought it in the 80's, they started the Fox Channel and in the 1990's Fox News.
