Nice. Resort to personal attacks because you don't like the truth.
Bald and golden eagles are large and powerful enough to prey on cats and small dogs if they want to, and have been known to do so on occasion.
Most eagles probably won't come close enough to human habitations to prey on pets, but if your pet wanders too far and there's a large eagle that's not scared of humans like the one in the pictures above, all bets are off.
BTW I didn't say you were wrong/"I don't like the truth." Which as I indicate below the truth is if you have outdoor cats they are very much into FAFO so you never know what shit they might get into/what might get them etc. I can't believe the people near me whose cats roam and we have coyotes in the open space behind the houses here....
So back to eagles, yes cats are possible eagle prey though not often. Getkek does not appear to actually know what he's talking about - esp the carrying the cat away - maybe a short flight as a cat is roughly double their normal lifting capacity, and if it did carry it there wouldn't be a lot of struggle since talons ratchet closed, though it would typically be more as you describe like blam/cat dead/snack as much as possible before having to leave.
All that said, my main point still is, sack up and don't post lame stuff like "but they will eat muh pets!" on a cool post about eagles. Unless I misread YOUR comment and you were actually saying this adds to their coolness - I only just now thought of this in which case I apologize and retract everything and say YESSSS.
Puss.
Edit: Growing up, we had a big tabby tom. As he got older he ranged farther, we'd catch him coming back for food once in awhile. Often all wounded and shit. Eventually he didn't come back. But he died doing what he liked doing....
Brilliant! π
I know.
