I snacked on 'em once when I went to Thailand. They're not completely awful. You won't vomit after taking a bite. They're a bit like a crispy french fry that you have to pull the legs off of. The point is that while yes, you can eat them, I have zero interest in making it a dietary staple.

BTW, In Thailand you will only pay about 50 cents for an entire bag of fried crickets 10 times that size. 70 cents per bug is beyond ridiculous.

These kind of things used to be sold in gift shops and you’d get them as little gag gifts for your friends to put on their knic-knac shelf. I was never expected nor did I expect anyone to actually eat them.
I put them on a hook once. Fish don’t even want them either.

That i believe is more of a novelty item and sold that way. I'm sure mass farmed for consumption will be cheaper and probably less healthy.
