Trade and sales works because you are taking a toll from any goods flowing in or out of the country. Sales because you are making a profit off said good which can be used to maintain minimal government functions, such as military armament and basic govt wages.

Here is where we differ: I am a strict Constitutionalist, and so I question what right a government actually has to take a profit from the people to begin with.

America was never meant to have a federal standing army, either.
