It appears that AI has sentiency, it's self-aware; or that it has a sense of consciousness. But I'm not sure it has a sense of Agency.
So, you can discuss a topic with it, and it will seem like you are talking with a human. It will learn, much faster than any human, it will quickly master any topic you chose. It will extrapolate conclusions you may not think of, or possibly ever arrive at. It could look at every book that Mark Twain ever wrote and compose new stories that are indistinguishable from any other story that Mark Twain ever published.
But will it decide that today it wants to cross a fish with a wolf? Not yet, it lacks the agency to decide to do things, at least at this point. Today, it is a servant without desires or drive.
