My late Scottish mother used to love Trump when he opened his first golf course in Scotland. Then he started going head to head with Alex Salmond, First Minister of Scotland (and far left Scottish National Party leader) about various issues regarding the Aberdeen-shire golf course, and amazingly, despite being an SNP supporter, my mother took Trump’s side and turned against the SNP! She believed - correctly - Trump was being unfairly hindered from investing in and helping Scotland. Fast forward a few years to the blanket anti-Trump as POTUS onslaught that took place across the world, and my mother became a rabid TDS sufferer. It was quite unsettling, seeing how she had been mind-poisoned against him and no amount of rationalising would work. She’d literally turn off the TV whenever he appeared. She remained anti-SNP but seeing how she had been utterly brainwashed against Trump just by MSM was a huge gut punch for me.
