It's also the night of Beltaine, a wild night of chaos, revelry, and excess that has been celebrated in the Celtic world for thousands of years.
It survives today as Mardi Gras, Carnivale, Fasching, May Day, etc., and is about the last day where you would ever hold a solemn, sacred ceremony - especially in Britain where this tradition is well known.
In the USA, it would be the equivalent of holding the presidential inauguration in New Orleans on the last night of Mardi Gras.
(Also, for all y'all, there is no such word as "coronated." Charles is being crowned, not "coronated.")
