My mother just went to her doc for a regular visit. The doc asked her how the family is doing, so she decided to ask him the same. He made rare direct eye contact with my mom and said "We're okay".
"Oh, did you have a rough time with Covid?" She asked?
Doc: "We all got it, but were okay. But I'll tell you, I am so glad I did not get my kids vaccinated. There are so many people out there suffering right now from it"
Mom: "Oh. My son (my brother) refused to get his kids vaccinated and only got it himself to keep his job. My other son (me) outright refused to get it."
Doc: "Congratulations, your sons are well read. They don't follow the sheep".
I asked her if she was serious and if he had actually used those words. She said yes.
After 2 years of my trying to convince my mother not to get the vax, in vain, this doctor finally nailed the point home to her.
I must say.. it felt damn good to hear it.
Progress.
On another note, all the boomers in my family (all vaxxed) now firmly believe "we" were duped. No offense intended to baby boomers, that just so happens to be who this millennial has been spending most of his time around lately. I know being awake knows no generational boundaries and it has more to do with the person than their age. The ones in my family just so happened to all buy into the brainwashing campaign.
Cheers frens.
i had some family come in about 2 years ago & within the first 10 minutes of talking & catching up, "Well, we all got the vaccine, how about you guys?"
i just sort of stopped, looked at them with a confused face & just went "No, no we didn't get any of that garbage."
it's almost like some people are searching for recognition or acceptance by other sheep, that they "fell in line" & are totally perplexed when they find out others didn't.
really weird.
It's not completely weird. When one gets peer acceptance pushed into them for their entire life, they have no way of knowing how to think differently, or for themselves. They use things like tattoos, creation of music, painting, and other forms of expression to display their "individuality", but still toe the line of acceptance very, very closely. Rebellion while still conforming, i.e. "Rage against the machine, man!". The media, schools, ad companies and brand pushers, the (IMO, pathetic) pushing of "role models" and false "idols" in a manner that people can pretend that they're someone else, and others push relentlessly to reinforce this. On a personal note, once I was "rejected" as a grade schooler, I never looked back, and thought of those people as total automatons, and reveled in my total freedom from such programming. As I've gotten older, I've learned to be more sympathetic to those who are waking up (or starting to) and dare question everything, but there are those who are truly lost.
My grandfather once said, "People spend 98% of their time talking about other people." and he was right. That falls into line with everything else I've stated above.
Well said. I felt alone and different as a kid, realized in like 3rd grade that I couldnt understand why they cared about professional baseball players and Saved By The Bell… stopped caring why and did my own thing. Thanks to that was able to avoid the clotshot without caring what society thinks in a very sheepish area.
Don't you find it weird that people readily announced their medical status in general conversation? How often do you hear "I take penicillin for my syphilis, how about you?"
