It’s definitely bizarre and at first glance of the headline earlier I wasn’t ruling out foul play, high stakes here. But it seems like poor track maintenance. We have multiple horses, different owners and jockeys, horse legs breaking, it’s not unlikely that it could all boil down to a poor racing surface. Maybe they were too concerned with their charcuterie boards, funny hats and wine pairings to notice
It's true. I remember when Barbaro, right after winning the Kentucky Derby, broke his leg, and they had to put him down.
Horses are apparently hard as fuck to operate on. I've heard that if they're put on a slant in just the wrong way, they could DIE.
