We know that CNN town halls primarily appeal to the general Normie TV watching crowd.
It's human nature to get swept along with the crowd, and human nature to get swept along with a laugh track into seeing something as fun and humorous, especially when it's based in truth.
Leftist propaganda outlets like SNL use audience laughter signs to get you to laugh at things that aren't funny, and the audience gets swept into accepting it. However, there's no kernel of humorous truth (such as that expressed with a good meme), the bedrock of humour, and so it doesn't always work.
When you get the audience organically laughing at things that are truthful and humorous, it's inviting, and the home audience laughs along with it, because there's an instinctive sense of truth there, couched in a way where you feel it's okay to laugh.
Trump absolutely gained new voters tonight, and whether it's intentional or not, Kaitlin played her role as the snarling bitch perfectly.
She was the negative counterpoint, but she was overwhelmingly the butt of all the jokes. Negativity + Charm = humour at the negativity.
Okay, with that in mind, the Debate is now over. Remove Trump and the source of positive feelings and CNN is left as this dreadful insanely negative void that nobody wants to engage with, with their panel of CIA clowns.
That highlights Trump's positivity even more so, and casts them all into this obvious negative light, expressed by their endless scowls.
I imagine this had the net effect of having even the regular CNN audience immediately tune out once Trump was done.
I am reminded of Burning Bright's term Narrative Whiplash, but more so in this case an Emotional and Cognitive whiplash. A mood whiplash.
This was entirely positive for Trump, and the home TV audience were drawn right into the organic live audience responses.
While they are still a TV responsive home audience, they're conditioned to respond to audience laughter which is the whole purpose of laugh tracks to begin with -- to simulate a theatre audience response to trigger the group response.
Assuming the Badlands crew are here, I would like Burning Bright to read this and give a more erudite take on this.
I would also like to hear YOUR thoughts and analysis, Anons!
