Watch this video of Just Human and Burning Bright from 1:54 until about 2:12. They are talking about the psyop of making us think things are much worse, border, banks etc than they really are. They make the argument the border, in reality, is under control. I know it's hard to believe but listen to their argument.

I remember a video from years ago, from one of the Slavic countries, where a man was tied up between a jeep and a tree. He owed around the equivalent of $100 in taxes.
