Dorothy recovered the slippers after the Wicked Witch of the East died when "the House" fell on her. After which, the Wicked Witch of the West took a more prominent role in the story. Foreshadowing?

Now I gotta find the old Disney Oz tape with Ding Dong the Witch is Dead and the Pup-Pup-Puppet Polka songs and give it a listen.

I just recently learned that there was an actor suicide on the set of this movie. He was one of the dwarf actors and he hung himself. Supposedly you can see him through one of the screens in the movie. Haven’t checked myself. Could it be related to any of this?
