Good advice. I don't know how anyone could get through the past decade without faith. For anyone around here that doesn't, I promise you won't regret making a real attempt to connect to and talk to God.
Personally, I'll never be one of those people that's going to tell you what the right and wrong way is to do that because I don't know the answer and that's just part of the journey. But make an attempt to create that connection and I promise it will make you stronger.
Now, in going with a similar but non-spiritual/religious theme I would make another suggestion: Find something away from this battle that rejuvenates you and gives you a bit of isolation from it.
We all recognize this battle for what it is at different points in our life. For myself and others around here, that was many, many years ago. And for many years, I gave up on caring about many trivialities of life because in light of the battle we have been fighting, it seemed almost shameful to care about what my hometown baseball or football teams were doing.
Now, every night my routine is to walk my dogs for 90 minutes and I listen to nothing but trivial things on my headphones. Sports podcasts, Star Wars audiobooks, etc. Nothing political, nothing serious, all mindless. Mind you, I don't give a penny of my pocketbook to professional sports or Disney (which owns Star Wars). I simply cleanse my mind a bit with some exercise and some nonsense and it has been a very good mental respite for me.
