There were several celebrities prosecuted all around the same time. As with Trump, the cases were many years old and, for Harris, there were no rape allegations. I suspect the real reason for the prosecutions were to distract from the Jimmy Savile disaster.

Savile was friends with Prince Charles, knew Margaret Thatcher and, rumour has it, that he procured little boys for a former Prime Minister. He was also into necrophilia and goodness knows what else. And, of course, the BBC seemed to give Savile a pass as well in spite of "everyone knowing".

So, I believe that Harris et al were just convenient victims.
