I've been wondering about this for years.

Like, if Corn Pop Joe was "the Big Guy," he should be wealthier than he is. The whole Buyden family should be. Yet, Obama rises from relative obscurity in Chicago, a few decades later he's worth over $300M?! Not even shady book deals and huge speaking engagement fees can do that. Especially when he enters the White House practically in debt and comes out worth $200M+.

I think Root's on to something here.
