What is wishful thinking is holding on to the illusion that you know exactly what is going on, when you don't.

I know that I don't. I just explore and entertain possibilities. Assigning your own wishful thinking motivation to others who engage with the information and analyse, parse it from an entirely different standpoint is pure projection.
