Patriot Games is the sequel to the Hunt for Red October. "Red October" being one of Q's favorite phrases, with all sorts of potential links to this.

As an aside (I hope): getting a bunch of teenage athletes from all the Districts (States) to compete for the masses also sounds a whole lot like The Hunger Games. Calling the Hunger Games, "Patriot Games" would be so very... 1984.
