I've seen a few security camera recordings of Sunday afternoon's booms...and yeah, it seems like weak tea.
However, I live in NoVA, was standing next to an open door to the patio...I can assure you, there were two tremendous "booms" back to back, and they literally shook the house and rattled glassware in cupboards.
Also, I've heard sonic booms in the past but these were more like muffled explosions...I also don't remember sonic booms shaking the house that much. The whole experience (and provided "official" details) seems pretty shady to me.
