And a look back at the scripture illuminates it further - it's actually a little different than the common paraphrase: **Pride goes before DESTRUCTION... and a haughty spirit before a FALL. **
Think of the destruction they're causing, and in the video, we see some literally. And man, do these folks have the haughty attitude!

"The universe"? The universe is not God. The creator is different from His creation.
I don't see it that way.
Probably has to do with one's definition of God and definition of universe.
I would let God define Himself and His creation.
