If this is the case, then Desantis should have thrown his full support behind Trump, then after a few indictments step in as "the savior of maga".

Instead he turned his back on Trump and tried to distance himself, now he's emerged as the savior of the Republican Establishment, the controlled opposition to the Democrat party.

Because his hand was "forced" by the Trump attacks which at that time sounded premature, but we know now.
