We don't need to struggle to "gain paradise"; Jesus paid that price on the cross. It may be falsely claimed in the Catholic church and other places that you must "work for salvation", but the scriptures are VERY clear that it is faith in Jesus as your personal savior that assures salvation. I've never heard anyone say "everyone will be saved".
I took this to mean paradise here. At some point God's kingdom comes to Earth. We need to struggle against evil here, now. God said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches," but he also could just as easily also said, "I am the general, ye are the soldiers." We must be tuned to God. But we must keep our swords sharp and be ready to meet the enemy, here, in this life.
Great comment, frog. YES. πΈπΈπΈ
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Only by confessing what the bible says about Him, repenting of your sins, and making Him your Lord can you be saved. It's putting what you say you believe into practice.
Just knowing about Jesus is not be enough to qualify you as a "Christian":
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well. The devils also believe β and tremble.
Going to church on Easter and Christmas will not be enough.
Pray, read the Bible, commune with God, serve others, give, bear fruit.
Everybody is "saved" Jesus paid for the sins of the WORLD. As far as God is concerned we are all forgiven.
The problem is this. The Holy Spirit is always with us revealing to us the truth. If we reject that truth we have committed the "eternal" sin. (Mark 3: 22-30).
If we refuse to accept the truth we will forever be lost in a lie.
It's not that God rejects us. When we reject forgiveness we reject Him.
We have free will. God will not take that away. He will not force us to accept the truth. To keep it simple, the truth is heaven. The lie is hell.
Exactly. Accepting the truth is not just words. It's accepting and living the reality that the God of the bible is real and His Son is the only way, not just to be saved. His son Jesus is the only way to live.
