60 yo guy otherwise healthy, never vaxxed, still has not had return of taste or smell. Recommended he start NAC and Zinc together and is now on day 5, but any other recommendations or thoughts would be much appreciated. A review of old posts mentions things like the Zelenko protocol, ivermectin and HCQ, as well as olfactory training, but many of these are over a year old.

Please be careful with the Nattokinase. It can have the opposite effect on some people. I was taking it for a few weeks before starting to get progressively weaker. I got a cut on my fingers twice during that time, and noticed it only took about a second of very light pressure to stop the bleeding. I was pleased, because I thought it might be vitamin K in it, even though it had reportedly been removed. But after several weeks of regular use, I became so weak that it was almost impossible for me to get up off a short stool I sit on for certain tasks in the kitchen. Took several minutes, and involved getting down on the floor on all fours first. I was seriously terrified about my health as never before. I suspected the Natto, and quit taking it. Started regaining my strength the next day. A few weeks later, I got a cut on my finger again, and bleeding time was back to where it had been before. I am thinking the exhaustion was caused by my blood becoming far too thick. No other changes during that time period. Never again, for me.
Bump up the vit C to 5-10,000 mg of sodium ascorbate
Be sure to add quercetin (unless you have thyroid issues) to enable the zinc to permeate the cells. Alternatively green tea can be used...
