I am a bit confused on the blackout. From what I can tell, reddit is trying to get everyone to use their official app.
I only visit a couple of subs anymore but when I do I replace “www” with “old” in the address bar for the old format within a browser. I wonder if this will be taken away.
They are going to start charging astronomical pricing for api calls that third party apps, moderation bots and other tools use.
So people that use their party apps instead of the official Reddit app & moderators are complaining that their lives are going to be screwed up.
It’s mostly because if they use the official app they’ll have to see ads. And the moderators won’t be able to use bots to automatically remove posts and comments they don’t like.
Thanks. It sounds like it is liberal on liberal violence. So win/win.
The funny thing about this is the mods will no longer be able to autoban people just because they're subscribed to a certain subreddit such as /r/conservative.
July is going to be prime month for Reddit salt harvesting.
Also, downvote bots won't work unless these losers pay up. I am interested to see how this affects subs such as /r/politics and /r/worldnews.
Edit - Looks like I spoke too soon. Reddit announced they're making API use free of charge for moderation teams as long as they register for access.

Old reddit still works fine for me.
I go to the stonk and silver boards.

Maybe tomorrow, but moon soon.
Always tommorow.
