"Arrest" doesn't necessitate that he be detained after. In this case it just means that he was taken into custody for a time, forms were filled out, and he was officially booked for the charges.
Handshakes gunna handshake
This is the issue. People see the word "arrest" and automatically think of scenes from Law and Order or some other cop procedural show.
So they're thinking that Trump is getting slammed into the ground and some big, burly alcoholic cop is slapping handcuffs on him while making some pithy comment, and then hauls him down to the cells and throws him in with a bunch of pimps and thugs. Who then say something like "Fresh meat!" and circle around him. And then he has to stay in there until Melania can come down to the station and bail him out.
So, just tell them that with people like Donald Trump, being arrested doesn't amount to much more than an hour or so doing some paperwork. And he might get a nice souvenir photo when he leaves.
It's really no big deal. More annoying and time wasted than anything else.
