People are under the impression that American habits have caused the obesity, and that may be true to an extent, but I believe it’s a small extent.
So much of our food is banned in other countries for harmful ingredients. So much food that was simply fattening and fine in moderation has had its ingredients swapped with things far worse.
Things like ketchup have high fructose corn syrup in our country but not in others, like Canada. It’s even in soy sauce.
Our bread has been super sweetened too.
HFCS is killing us but without a ton of money and time, it’s almost impossible to avoid.
Bad habits are being caused by the drugs they push on us and the food. They make us sick and tired and addicted. Cut that crap out of our food and you’d see a colossal improvement.
I agree with you. But when I have made some comment here in the past about various European countries banning certain foods, the responses are usually in the area of "eurofag soyboy government telling people what they can't eat won't go over well here(US)".
I think that if the US banned all the hormones and antibiotics and food additives like most European countries have, people would get all enraged over the government telling them what they can and can't eat.
Honestly, can you picture anyone here trusting the US government in telling them what they can and can't eat? I have no doubt if the government did that, you'd have plenty of people here get angry about it.
This is very true but I think the main thing is that the foods don’t need to be banned, they need to be changed back to how they were.
People didn’t say a thing when all of our cereal got ruined. People only mildly complained when school lunches were made even more gross.
Don’t take the food away, but show people why nothing tastes right anymore, or why it makes you feel like crap now. Tell them the truth - bad, nasty crap has been slipped into your food for years, that’s why it’s gross, so let’s make it good again. I don’t think people would mind that too much.
