the way the new car tech is going, I don't think it's smart to get anything newer than what, 2015? 2016?
2021/2022 and beyond is the era to avoid.
Seen some silly comments here.
Computers don’t make cars unrepairable by common man, you just need to be 10% smarter. YouTube videos (and one day Rumble) give great insight on how to fix these computer issues. Except flashing a computer which any auto shop can flash for ~$100 (1 hour labor). This is very rare occurrence anyways. Most parts are plug and play.
The benefit of a computer is unbelievable. Changes in on the fly timing/ fuel injection amount, direct fuel injection, etc. And sure some of these things can be done without computers, but it becomes more mechanically complex where less people are knowledgeable in your build and now your locked into seeing one mechanic, etc.
The reason I say 2021 / 2022 is because they have engine control via app. The app is owned by the parent company. Insert man having issues with his Amazon smart home because of alleged racism. Now your car company can shut your car down. (True of all Teslas but I digress). That’s the scariest thing to me. Imagine not being able to drive to work and anyone who gives you a lift loses car privileges. Suddenly your circle of friends shrink, you lose your job, then you lose all of your personal possessions. Vehicular transportation is key to a job which is key to livelihood for almost every person. May God smite the faggots who seek to do this kind of harm to people if patriots fail.
I will keep that in mind. I am not techy in vehicles.
