I remember an old statistic that said only 1 in 7 alcoholics will get permanently sober. I thought that sounded horrible until I heard the next stat: there are no known cases of anyone who has raped a child ever stopping or becoming "safe" for children to be around. They are a permanent danger to all children and never stop looking for opportunities to rape more children.
