Makes sense. Russian Police would likely be equipped to suppress Riots and minor Civil unrest. Meaning probably the extent of their armament is small arms. Maybe a handful of anti-mat rifles and light APCs for their SWAT equivalents. Not go toe to toe with Mechanized Troops with armored support.
There’s also been reports of Russian Ground Forces either refusing to fire on Wagner Troops or outright defecting to the supposed Rebels.
Whether this is a some sort of stunt, convoluted plan, or acting or whatever. It is certainly a beyond interesting.
I can't see how Wagner has any heavy weapons near Moscow it would take weeks to move that equipment by rail and that is easy to stop with one bomb.
Modern wars are won and lost with logistics. A mercenary force has none. They depend on the russian army to supply them.
Reportedly Russian Military and National Guard units on the road to Moscow have been outright defecting. Which would explain where they’d get heavy weapons.
Not to mention it also comes down to experience. Wagner spent months on the frontlines. The Russian Cops on the other hand. Have been dealing with typical police work and the occasional protest/riot. Not exactly equivalent to frontline combat experience.
Granted this is also supposing it’s not some elaborate fake plan/stunt on the part of one faction or another.
All looks fake and gay to me. You can't move a force like that. It's too easy to stop, even token resistance would stop them for days. Looks like a made up excuse to shut things down and take out the deepstate in Russia.
Which is funny considering nothing at all has shut down and Prigozhin has already told his forces to stand down, as of a couple hours ago, after talking with Lukashenko and Putin.
So we already know the "take out the deep state in Russia" narrative to be copium bullshit.
