Just saying, accidents happen while racing. Sabotage is possible. No mention of what he was racing/running. No mention of a sanctioned race being held there Sunday. Just a rich dude in a Porsche or Ferrari slamming into a barrier. Which are usually designed to absorb impact.
I believe he was on the board of this company as well.
Seems suspicious to let one of your main shareholders get totally destroyed by his own course. Especially if the police are commenting on how they’re doing an autopsy even though ~multiple blunt force trauma sites~ are present.
I've spent time at Woody Creek. It's a short track with enough space to get up to speed and then require hard braking. It's pretty fun in a lower powered car but the members there (it's private) all have big hp supercars. There is little space to run off and there are walls to hit. Even if you run off into the fields there are decent sized rocks to hit. Brake fade is a problem not to be messed with.
I was running an m235 tuned to 400hp. Going into turn 1 where the wall he probably hit was it was rev limiting in third, about 110. I would guess a Mclaren (these guys don't mess with Porches) could be 130-140. Our group had a cone chicane set up on the back straight to keep speeds down. Without that they might have seen 150 there.
He's probably getting about 450 out of it. That's about the safe limit of that engine without getting into non-daily driver territory. They are great cars. I had lots of BMWs, and switched over to Audi this go round. About 10k and the S3 will pump out about 400 HP plus some other mods. Gets it just under 4 seconds. HP to weight wins every time.

Thanks blacksmith... didn't realize he was racing.

How fast can the big HP cars get going on the track?

That's fast enough to get dead. I've got a S3 that I'm going to tune to stage 2 when I'm not spending money on other things. I don't drive it much.
My son has a tuned RS3 and it makes my car look like it's going backwards. HP is not expensive these days, misusing it can be.
