I wonder why courtrooms still use sketch artists.
Would actual photography be exploited by those spying on legal documents?
As a side note, in hindsight, I feel awful that I so praised him for years as an amazing Lex Luthor in Superman Returns, despite the rest of the movie. I had no idea he was such scum in real life.
At least he gave us a little red-pill in A Bug's Life with that Hopper speech.
Many times during famous cases, cameras are not allowed, so artists are assigned to sketch.
But why not just have a photographer? Cameras don't have to "click" so a photo doesn't make any noise.
Flashes, people would try to film, etc. I would prefer all trials to be shown live - streamed because there are only a few seats in a courtroom.
