The LORD Is God
32 Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of? 33 Has any other people heard the voice of God speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived? 34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes? 35 You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other. 36 From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire. 37 Because he loved your ancestors and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength, 38 to drive out before you nations greater and stronger than you and to bring you into their land to give it to you for your inheritance, as it is today. 39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. 40 Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all time.
Study Notes:
4:32 How tempted we are.to look everywhere else but to God for our guidance and leadership! We trust medical doctors, financial advisors, and news commentators, but do we trust God? Get God's advice first (4:39, 40), and recognize his authority over every dimension of life.
4:40 Was Israel guaranteed prosperity for obeying God's laws? Yes--but we have to look carefully at what that means. God's laws were designed to make his chosen nation healthy, just, and merciful. When the people followed those laws, they prospered. This does not mean, however, that no sickness, no sadness, and no misunderstandings existed among them. Rather, it means that as a nation they prospered, and that individuals' problems were handled as fairly as possible. Today God's promise of prosperity--his constant presence, comfort, and the resources to live as we should--extends to all believers. We will face trials; Jesus assured us of that. But we will avoid the misery that directly results from intentional sin, and we will know that a great treasure awaits us in heaven.
This is a good reminder to keep with us as we go view Sound Of Freedom. God is in control. God is Allknowing and sees the sins in the hearts. He "searches the heart and examines the mind to reward a person, according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve" (Jeremiah 17:10). We may be foolishly untrustworthy. But God is steadfast and true. There is no other more worthy of trust.
Our heavenly Father, thank You for Your blessings today. Thank You for being with our loved ones as they work throughout this day. Thank You for Your work through them. It is a marvelous comfort to know that You are truly the One we can rely on. Thank You for Your healing power that You give to us. Help us recognize it and give You praise as we heal. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Have a blessed day.
How wonderful to be reminded...
"39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other."
Love the song...
"True freedom is obedience to God,
Raise me up and let me be free."
The freedom we have in Christ is true freedom...
