I suspect they know who’s onside or not already. DeSantis feels like a desperation move, they pulled out a key asset to provide a palatable MAGA alternative to Trump for when they were to presumably arrest him and knock him out of the race.

It wasn’t a bad plan. Even most posters on this board would have endorsed him for 2028. In retrospect they should have had him jump in after Trumps arrest. Instead he completely exposed himself in trying to undermine Trump. Now Trump has even more support and MAGA is hyper skeptical of any other candidates.
