Declas and the Storm happened in Westworld (episodes Genre, Crisis Theory) and everyone was either dead or worshiping Sadistic AI gods within a decade.
I think Nolan’s other story, Interstellar, implies that if we continue as a species it’s because of empathy, love, and familial responsibility.
