When I see something like this it looks edited

This is John Kirby, National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, and was Pentagon Press Secretary under Obama.

We have two great cues to work from here: Kirby's tie and the fact that he's passing off the podium. I'd trace this to his APRIL 20, 2023 appearance:

Fast forward to 34:00 and you'll see that it's edited.

But all is not lost here because it was a good question. What reporter asked that question and how was it responded to in reality?

The question is asked, he looks baffled for a few seconds as he struggles for a response. Then a female voice says "let's go", and he walks off the podium. The edited video isn't changing anything. The original video actually looks more damning as he is essentially left speechless before walking off.
