Any Drs or Med Heads in here that can explain why plasma is big business now? I donate blood every 60 days to lower my blood pressure and next door is a plasma donation center that people line up to sell their plasma.

I watched a doc about this last year. Sorry, can't remember where or what the name of it was. But it basically showed people selling their plasma to pay for their particular drug of choice. And the people collecting the blood didn't care it was riddled with drugs and put it out there anyway.

Also have to be careful bc donating too much plasma or too frequently can hurt you. Europe has safeguards in place that USA does not
