I'm thinking McCarthy may end up in the Presidential spot soon enough! He would hold it down until Trump made his comeback, I believe.

If VP is out, Speaker doesn't get bumped up to VP unless nominated by POTUS. If VP AND Potus are out at the same time, then speaker gets bumped up to POTUS.
