We got the worst seats in the theatre only because the group in front of us was 7 people. The theatre is running 10 showings daily since it opened, and they are all almost completely sold out. Several groups that couldn't get seats together bought tickets for later showings. There are several theaters nearby that are showing multiple times daily. During the movie the crowd was so quit you could have heard a pin drop. Great movie, be sure to see it and tell your friends.

It could have been because it was close to dinner time on a Friday of a holiday weekend.
Yup that's what I thought too (except 7/7 wasn't a holiday weekend) til we walked out into a vacant lobby, no crowds then either
Could've been a fluke
When the holiday lands in the middle of the week it creates 2 holiday weekends.
The weekend that arrives three days after the holiday still gets to party with the holiday?
That's a rule too cool for school
No wonder they never taught it! :)
Speak with some business owners and they will explain the phenomenon. They can explain it in terms of staffing, sales, vacation days, etc.
I've owned and/or managed multiple businesses and it can be a nightmare.
