Could have been a bad guy at one time and saw the light, or good guys have better blackmail now/forced his hand

Editing - movie made ~6 years ago right? 2016 election was a little before then so slim financed some of DNC/Clinton stuff either genuinely wanting to help them or just doing it to maintain trust, maybe got flipped somehow and helped good guys find kids
