They DESTROYED this guy's career all because he wanted to be paid fairly for the Back to the Future sequels (same with Marty's girlfriend that was replaced with Elizabeth Shue).
Crispin Glover is really fucking strange to most people, but he's an incredible acting talent. I'm pretty confident the man could have pulled off Daniel Day Lewis levels of acting on the big screen if they wouldn't have blacklisted him.
Strange is a good description. I like him for the most part, but you have to wonder if he was mind altered in some way. This appearance on Letterman has always made me wonder what he's been through.
I think that Letterman appearance was an act. From what I understand, he appeared on the show a couple of weeks later. I don't think Letterman would have brought him back (the angry douchebag, if truly offended by Glover, would have banned him). Moreover, I don't think he was under the influence of anything ... that kick would have landed him on his ass :-).
I could be totally wrong of course :-) . It isn't like I know the guy ... I just got the biggest kick out of his "persona" ... he's like Andy Kauffman on acid :-).
I do know most of Glover's problems in Hollywood started right around the time Back to the Future 2 and 3 were being produced. It is criminal what they did to him ... again, he only wanted to be paid fairly.
