I couldn't believe I heard a local "news" anchor say that! I've NEVER heard of any bomb being called a "munition" when it comes to reporting. Imagine if there had been stories about the "munitioning" of London, or dropping an atomic "munition". The media people are just so sleazy in their reporting. If they don't outright lie, or just omit, they hide/distort (I'm going blank on the best word to describe this since I just woke up :) ) like in this case.

I think they know what they are doing when they change common terms like this. When I lived in MIssissippi, casinos were being voted on by the citizens. The "pro Casino" groups referred to "gaming", not "gambling". Subtle word changes like this can make a difference in the way people perceive things. Sort of like "abortion" being called "family planning".
