I looked up yesterday that wisconsin was the 1st state to impose state income taxes. It did so in 1911, 2 years before it was federally done in 1913. Wonder if it starts here.
That was around the same time frame the socialists were taking power from Republicans.
Seidel was elected in 1910. First socialist mayor of Milwaukee. 3rd officially socialist mayor was In 52', however many of the "democrats" were former socialist party members/ and or ran as a socialist in other elections. Some even into Congress I believe.
