I like to believe I am an independent. I don't like to subscribe to just one side.

Being independent simply means you don't affiliate with a particular party, either Republican, Democrat or Libertarian. It doesn't mean you aren't conservative or that you aren't liberal. I know liberals and conservatives that are independent.

Unfortunately, where I am now, you go into the voting booth (and yes, ID, personally there), they don't give you an independent choice. You are either Dem or Republican. I chose Republican.
